The important distinction

An output can be generic for different reasons

A template is intentionally reusable. Vibe coding can also converge on reusable patterns because models learn common solutions and developers often ask for familiar interfaces. Both routes can produce a strong site when someone edits the system around a real audience, content model and interaction need.

The inverse is also true: a custom repository can still feel generic, and a purchased template can become highly distinctive. The public result tells you much more about the quality of the final decisions than about the private sequence used to create it.

Applied example

Comparison case: two identical-looking pricing pages

Site A was generated from a detailed prompt and then reviewed for two weeks. Site B uses a purchased template with custom typography but unchanged content structure.

  • Site A may retain code-generation conventions while delivering stronger product-specific explanations.
  • Site B may have no AI involvement while looking more interchangeable because the content model remains unchanged.
  • A screenshot-based detector could easily rank the sites in the wrong order.
  • A product review would focus on comprehension, proof, accessibility and conversion behavior instead.
